Volax is a small village.
Its unique surrounding of big round rocks gives the whole landscape a lunar appearance. It was established in the 14th-century or older. It lies on a little plateau in the centre of Tinos in an average altimeter of 284m above sea level.
Many houses are built above these rocks and near each other according to the rules of the traditional Cycladic architecture.
A part of its alternative places to see are also a small Folklore Museum which is opened to the crowd during the summer period and a 380-seat amphitheatre where many musical and theatrical performances take place.
Koumaros village is a traditional village located 10 km north of Hora, on the slopes of Exobourgo, offering an exceptional view to the great ravine full of orchards. Koumaros charms with its natural colours, the quaint alleys, the old fountains and the medieval arches.
All Saints is not celebrated in Greece, yet I have stopped by to commemorate them. Rest in peace!

a little walk in the beautiful village of Arnados coverd with a lot of alleys!
Smardakito is built on the slope of mountain Raches, which offers breathtaking views of the villages Krokos and Loutra.
The traditional Tinian architecture is clearly visible in every corner of the village: the houses, the courtyards, the cobblestone streets, the arches.
The paved square is one of the most scenic on the island. In the square you’ll meet the church of St. Anthony with its impressive bell tower and the very old fountain with running crystal water and its traditional laundry.

Komi is a small village and a community on the island of Tinos.
The community consists of the settlements Kolympithra, Krokos, Komi, Perastra and Skalados.
It has a Catholic church, and offers Cycladic type architecture. Every year, on August 29, a big party is held there, with visitors from various parts of Greece and even foreigners.
Sklavochorio is a small mountain village in the east of Krokos.
The view from the village of the north side of Tinos and of Agapi village is unique.
Sklavochorio was the hometown of the great Greek painter Nikolaos Gyzis. The house, where he lived, is open to visitors and it is a landmark of the village.
Potamia ,full of green, is an isolated village, situated on the slope of Tsiknias between ravines with running waters, that once powered the water mills of the area.
The church of Panaghia tou Karmilou, “Karmelitana”, dominates in the center of the village. Further down you will find the beaches Santa Margarita and Lychnaftia.
Mountados is a traditional village, built on the slope of Kechrovouni. Located 8 km away from Chora.
The village once had one of the few old schools of the island and one of the most famous mills. A point landmark of the village is the stream with a stone bridge. You will find a lot of old churches and of course the cathedral of St. John with its great marble temple.
Agios Sostis beach is located 6 km southeast of Tinos Town. It is one of the most popular beaches on Tinos with amazing crystalline water, soft sand and beautiful surrounding with tree offering plenty of shade.
is a picturesque village situated on the mountainside of Kechrovouni near the monastery of Aghia Pelaghia, located 7 km away from Chora.
It is known for its famous arches of the medieval era and the narrow paved roads underneath. The houses have yards full of flowers and the residents are benevolent and hospitable farmers.
There is an ecclesiastical museum with old photos and books.
This traditional village has a spectacular sea view, arches, cobblestone pathways, whitewashed streets and large houses decorated with marble lintels.
The village has two churches: Timios Stavros (Holy Cross) with a remarkable steeple and Megalomata with a unique marble entrance. The old fountain and the stone laundry complete the charm and beauty of the village. Ktikados is Captain Svetsos’ birthplace.
