Tinos is full of old footpaths. These paths were laid at the time of the Italian occupation. These paths went from village to village.
In the meantime, a lot have been overgrown by nature, but recently many have been cleaned up and reused by the hikers that the island receives every year.
This week the villages of Kaloni and Karkados are dominated by the event “tinosfoodpaths”, an annual event on food.
This year the windmill and all its aspects are central.
The program leads you along narrow mountain roads of these two villages in search of old mills, grain stables and gardens to discover what grain, flour …. means.
